The Island Storm fell short in their New Year's Eve Game versus the Moncton Magic. Currently sitting in 1st place in the NBLC, the Storm knew they were in for a tough battle against the opponent. Shooting poorly from the floor particularly in the 1st quarter saw the Storm get down by 18 points. After that quarter the Storm came back with a hard fight and actually bested the Magic 74-56 in the following 3 quarters, but it was not enough to come back from the defecit that began the game. Kareem Canty led the Storm with 25 points in the contest and Russell Byrd hauled down 18 reounds.

With some adjustments and better shooting percentages the Storm will become a team to reckon with in the league if they can maintain the energy and effort put out in the final 3 quarters of that game.

Storm fans can expect to see an exciting game this upcoming January 4th at 7:00 pm at the Eastlink Center which you can purchase your tickets here

The Storm also have a road swing with two games in Cape Breton sandwiching the January 4th game at home on January 3rd at 7:00 pm and January 6th at 2:00 pm. You can catch both games by clicking here for the webcasts
