Storm move Saturday game to 1pm start

Released: April 03, 2017

CHARLOTTETOWN – The Island Storm has announced Monday its regular season home game against the London Lightning, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 8 at 7 p.m., has been moved back to a 1 p.m. start on April 8.

The Charlottetown Islanders hockey team will be playing Game Two of their second round playoff series later that night at 7:30 p.m. from Eastlink Centre.

“The Islanders were in a situation where they could greatly benefit from getting a home game in on Saturday. In the midst of their historic run, we wanted to do whatever we could to help them,” said Storm Vice President of Business Operations Brett Poirier.

For those looking to enjoy both games, there is a joint ticket available at the Eastlink Centre box office. Fans who purchase the join ticket will receive nearly 30 per cent savings.

·      Adults - $27

·      Senior - $24

·      Student/Youth - $20

For the first time in arena history, Eastlink Centre will host a basketball game and a hockey game in the same day. Arena staff will have approximately three hours to complete the changeover before players take the ice.

Fans are encouraged to arrive prior to the 1pm start time because the game will start at the top of the hour to allow additional time for the changeover. After the game we ask all Storm fans to grab their garbage and head for the exits as soon as possible.

If you have purchased tickets for the 7 p.m. start and cannot attend the 1 p.m. game, you can exchange your tickets at the box office for another game.

Tickets for Friday’s game against Kitchener, as well as the game on Saturday can be bought by phone at (902) 629-6625, online at and in-person.
