The Island Storm won in a shootout this afternoon at the Eastlink Centre against the Saint John Riptide 130-121, to remain perfect at home.
Nick Okorie came out firing in the first quarter, draining consecutive three-pointers to give the Storm a slim 34-32 lead after one quarter.
Okorie, along with Al Richter, went back and forth on the scoring column to give the Storm a 63-55 lead at halftime.
The Riptide refused to go down quietly on the back of a strong effort by Anthony Anderson, who finished the game with eight three-pointers.
Okorie and Richter continued their strong performance into the second half, with 49 combined points after three quarters.
The Storm took a five point lead into the fourth quarter until pulling away with under six minutes and extending the lead by 11 points before the final score of 130-121.
Saint John's Anderson finished with a game-high 39 points while Okorie went 8-for-9 on the three-point line, finishing with a team-high 29-points.
The Storm head to Ontario next to face the Niagara River Lions on Jan. 20 and the Orangeville A's on Jan. 22 before returing to the Eastlink Centre to host the Cape Breton Highlanders.
