The Island Storm stayed perfect on home court by winning their New Years Eve clash with the Moncton Miracles in a nail-biting 103-100 final.
Tirrell Baines led the Storm with 22 points and 7 rebounds while Jahii Carson contributed 20 points, 9 assists and 4 rebounds and Nick Okorie chipped in 18 points, 5 assists and 2 rebounds.
The Storm battled back after being down at halftime and trailing into the fourth.
Jahii Carson's steal late in the final quarter gave the Storm a slim one point lead, followed by Nick Okorie's three-pointer.
Terry Thomas had another steal soon after for the Storm to further extend the lead before the game was tied at 100 with under a minute left.
After the Storm went up by three, Moncton came back relentlessly but could not hold off a strong defensive effort by the home squad.
Next stop for the Storm is in Cape Breton to battle the Highlanders on Sunday.
The Storm put their undefeated home record to the test against the Saint John Riptide on Sunday, January 8th at 2 p.m. at the Eastlink Centre.
