CHARLOTTETOWN - The Island Storm announced today the additions of Reagh Vidito and Jeff Morrison to Joe Salerno’s coaching staff for the upcoming season.
“We are excited about both the additions of Reagh and Jeff to our organization. It’s great to add two local names and faces to our bench, both of whom bring a different skill set to the table,” said Salerno.
Vidito officially joins the Storm bench after spending some time with the team as well as its Next Level Development program over the last two seasons. He has a lengthy coaching resume spanning over a decade at a variety of different levels on PEI, and was named Basketball PEI’s Coach of the year in 2013. Vidito is currently the Head Coach of the Men’s u17 Provincial Canada Games team, and has also spent time with the UPEI’s Panther’s Men’s and Women’s programs as both an assistant and a Head Coach.
“He has a great basketball mind, and is someone whose opinion I value when it comes to decision-making and on the fly adjustments. He is a coach I have been trying to get on our staff for some time now, so I am glad he was able to come on board for this season.”
Vidito currently resides in Charlottetown with his wife Rachel, and their two children Will and Katie.
Morrison, joins the Storm after spending the past two seasons with the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Developmental League, were he served as a basketball operations assistant and assistant video coordinator.
“Basketball is in his blood and he is a young and ambitious coach. He has done some extensive work in game film breakdown, so we will also be serving as our teams video coordinator.”
