The Island Storm will be playing for third place tomorrow night at Eastlink Centre.
The Storm topped the Halifax Hurricanes 101-100 on Friday night in front of an electric crowd at Eastlink Centre. With a Miracles loss in Saint John tonight the game against Moncton decides who gets third place in the division.
Terry Thomas led the way for the Storm with 27 points, while Tirrell Baines chipped in 19 points and six rebounds of his own.
In the loss Justin Johnson provided most of the spark for the Hurricanes. Contributing 17 points and 5 assists.
After a positive first half that saw the Storm head into the locker room up by seven, things became a lot closer in the second half, including a one point swing both ways multiple times.
A big stand in the final seconds was topped off with Terry Thomas picking up a block as time expired.
With the win the Storm improve to 14-25, while Halifax falls to 27-11. The team is back in action as Moncton is in town tomorrow; tip off at the Eastlink Centre set for 7 p.m.
