Storm top A's on Islander Day

The Island Storm defeated the Orangeville A’s 106-95 on Monday afternoon at the Eastlink Centre in front of an Islander Day crowd of 2,350.

Rashad Whack led the way for the Storm with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while big man Tirrell Baines added 16 points and 8 rebounds.

In the loss for the A’s Justin Moss shined adding 23 points and 13 rebounds.

In what turned into a heated get together after a brush up between Nick Evans and Rick Bodiford at the conclusion of the second quarter, spirits were high and testy the rest of the way, including a brush up after the handshake line.

Cooler heads did prevail however.

With the win the Storm improve to 7-14 and snapped a four game losing streak. Next action for the Island is Tursday when they head to Halifax to take on the Hurricanes, tip off is set for 7 p.m.

The Storm us back at home on Sunday, February 28 for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
