Storm drop close contest to Saint John

The Island Storm fell to the Saint John Mill Rats on Thursday night by a score 107-104.  

Led by Gabe Freeman and his 30 points to going along with 10 rebounds, the Mill Rats climbed out of a deep hole and topped the Storm.

After trailing by 18 at one point and time the Mill Rats were able to claw their way back into the contest and took their first lead midway through the third quarter.

After a couple of great chances by the Storm including two late three’s with seconds left on the clock, Freeman stepped up to the line and iced it.

In the loss the Storm were led by Brent Jennings who finished with 21 points and seven rebounds.

With the loss the Storm fall to 6-12, while the Mill Rats improve to 11-6. The Storm are set to take on the Halifax Hurricanes on Saturday, and are back home Monday Afternoon for a 2 p.m. tip on Islander Day as the Orangeville A’s make their first and only appearance at the Eastlink Centre this year.
