The Island Storm defeated the Moncton Miracles 101-100 on Thursday night.
Malcolm Grant led the way for the Storm with 19 points and nine assists, while big man Nick Evans added 16 and five.
In the loss Tydran Beaty was a bright spot for Moncton with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
With four seconds left on the clock one of the newest Storm members Morgan Lewis stepped up to the free throw line and made one of two to put his squad up by one.
Then from there it was just a quick dribble to half court by Beaty before a big heave that rimmed out as the final buzzer sounded sealing the deal for the Island and sending the crowd of 1,775 at the EastLink Centre home happy.
With the win the Storm improve to 6-9 and sit third in the Atlantic Division. Next action for the Island is tomorrow when they head to Halifax to take on the Hurricanes, tip off is set for 7 p.m.
The Storm are back at home next Thursday for a game against the Mill Rats at 7 p.m.
