The Island Storm lost a tough one in front of more than 2,000 fans at their season opener on Saturday.
The Saint John Mill Rats took care of business on the road by notching the 121-106 win over the Island.
Anthony Anderson led the Mill Rats with 24 points on 10 of 21 shooting.
For the Storm Malcolm Grant had a double-double with 24 points and 10 assists.
PEI came out of the gates with energy, behind a big first quarter from Brent Jennings the home team led 32-31 at the end of the quarter.
After a 42-point explosion by the Mill Rats in the second quarter, the Storm found themselves down 19 going into halftime.
The third quarter was much of the same for the Island. They began to allow Saint John to dominate down low and that cost them many fouls.
Grant made the fourth quarter interesting scoring some late-game buckets but the Storm could only get within 13 points and they ended up falling.
