The Island Storm fell 111-108 in a close overtime game against the Moncton Miracles on Thursday night at the Eastlink Centre.
The Storm jumped out to a quick start with a 5-0 run before the Miracles drained 10-straight points. The Storm finished with a slim 27-25 lead at the end of the quarter.
Brad States nailed a big three-pointer to kick off the second quarter before Al Stewart powered the Storm through the first half for a 51-44 lead at the break and led all scorers with 13-points.
In the second half the Storm continued to roll on both ends of the court.
Late in the third quarter Al Stewart came up with a huge steal that led to a Jahii Carson three-pointer, to put the Storm up 82-71.
The Storm started the fourth quarter with an 87-77 lead but after a back-and-forth finish the game went to overtime tied at 101.
The Miracles took a quick lead in overtime before Tirrell Baines tied it back up with a huge slam but it was not enough.
Jahii Carson finished with a game-high 28 points while Tydran Beaty led the Miracles with 22 points.
Next up for the Storm is a home match against the Halifax Hurricanes at the Eastlink Centre on Sunday, March 19 at 2 p.m.
